How MAGA Communism Will Make America Great Again By Crashing The Economy
Trump supporters are celebrating economic collapse to own the libs

The message from MAGA figures regarding the tariffs is that Americans must sacrifice and suffer now for the national good and a brighter future. This is an attitude that has not existed in America since the New Deal and World War II, in contrast to the late 20th Century mantra, which emphasizes patriotism based on prosperity and material gain. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the American Dream is not about access to cheap goods, which is antithetical to neoliberalism. Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro, who used to be a fairly establishment Republican, said when stocks crashed, “I don't really care about my 401(k) today. You know why? Not that I can afford it, not that it isn't important, not that I'm not at a point in my life when I should be worried about my 401(k) because I am, but this is what I believe. I believe in this man, and I believe that what we're seeing now with his bringing in $1 trillion in business and manufacturing and companies moving back to the United States….”

Prosperity made America decadent, which entails political correctness, White guilt, DEI, feminism, sexual degeneracy, and LGBTQ, etc. Thus, MAGA Communists hope that an economic collapse will purge America of these cancers like chemo. Poorer nations indeed tend to be more socially conservative and nationalistic while wealthier nations are more liberal. The Great Depression ended the decadent Roaring 20s and led to the 1950s, which social conservatives fetishize. Then the great prosperity of the second half of the 20th Century made America more liberal. Rightwing populists take a pessimistic view that America was better in the past. In contrast, the neoliberal view is that America is doing great due to rapid GDP growth, which leftists also critique, though they don’t fetishize the past.

Returning from white collar office work back to blue collar factory work is being romanticized by MAGA, much like how Mao forced decadent urbanites to return to the farms. For instance, Bessent suggested that government workers laid off by DOGE can work in the factories. Batya Ungar-Sargon, a self-identified “MAGA leftist,” said that she believes Trump’s tariffs will reverse the “masculinity crisis” permeating the Nation. Basically, getting men out of office jobs and working in factories will turn them into real men. The suffering and hardship that come from an economic collapse are good for the soul and will make the American people tougher.

The MAGA Communists hope that Trump’s tariffs will redistribute wealth from blue states to red states, from the laptop class to the working class, from the old to the young, and from women to men. Certainly, the economy since COVID, has disproportionately benefited boomers, women, and people of color at the expense of young White men. Bloomberg News reported that during the year after the Black Lives Matter protests (2020 to 2021), just 6% of new hires at S&P 100 companies were White. Thus, why shouldn’t young White men cheer on these woke corporations’ stocks crashing? Nike was probably the worst offender for being woke and anti-White, and their stocks crashed hard due to the steep tariffs proposed on garment producing countries like Vietnam.

There is a lot of resentment against the elderly for shutting down the economy during COVID, while older people who owned real estate, stocks, and 401ks benefited from the post-COVID stimulus bubble. Since the pandemic, boomers have bought the majority of new homes in America. Many young people are in massive student loan debt, can’t afford housing, and generally don’t have much in stocks or 401ks. Thus they don’t care so much about the stock market crashing. A lot of millennials and zoomers are hoping that real estate crashes so they can afford a house, as a pension/401k crisis would force boomers to sell or downsize. However, it is more likely to be private equity firms like BlackRock that buy up these homes.

A TikTok video that went viral from an Australian skincare company of these zoomer women acting silly sparked a lot of rage from men online. In particular, from working class men, who, besides the sexual resentment, resented these upper middle class women’s cushy marketing jobs, as many of these men likely have much more unpleasant jobs. Certainly, corporations hiring a lot more women, diversity hires, and bullshit jobs were a product of an economic bubble, due to low interest rates and stimulus spending. Not to mention that women are more consumeristic, thus will be disproportionately impacted by the rise in consumer prices.

These working class MAGA men have this psychosexual revenge fantasy of all the girl bosses getting laid off and having to settle for some guy who works in a factory. It is an evolutionary strategy for lower status men to try to reduce the relative status of women so they have to be dependent on them. They yearn for a day when America had a large manufacturing base, because men could support a wife and kids on one income. The rise of women in the workforce coincided with deindustrialization and the rise of the white collar and service sectors.

Liberals are accusing Trump supporters of being losers who want revenge for their personal failures by wrecking the economy, which is what the Right has traditionally said about leftists and socialists. For instance, leftists were losers who couldn’t compete under capitalism, so they enacted policies that destroyed the economy out of spite. However, there are also leftists rooting for the economy to crash to harm Trump and for anti-capitalist accelerationist reasons. Basically, Trump will spark a backlash that will lead to a Marxist revolution. However, since Trump won, you would think the losing team would be the ones celebrating an economic crash more.

America’s economy isn’t working for many people who grew tired of being gaslit about how great the economy was, so there is a nihilistic sense that we should just burn it all down. Understandably, people who have been fucked over or sidelined want revenge against those who did well in the economy under the previous system. Despite this mentality among a large segment of Trump supporters, Trump primarily respects people who are winners under capitalism and has contempt for the less well off people who support him.

MAGA Communism is an online meme and ideology that is nationalistic, socially conservative, anti-liberal, anti-capitalist, pro-Russian, and third worldist. MAGA Communism is post-modernist in that all politics are symbolic and truths and reality can be distorted. For instance, MAGA Communists tried to meme Trump into something that he is not. This even applies to Batya Ungar-Sargon, who in an interview with Michael Shellenberger, claimed that “Trump is waging class warfare on Wall Street for the sake of the American working class. And to punish him, Wall Street is betting against America because they cannot stand the idea that there is a person with power who is not on his knees in front of them.”

I don’t foresee MAGA forming this new left-right coalition, an America First labor movement, or Trump becoming this great social nationalist leader. Rather, Trump overall has been fairly pro-oligarch and rightwing economically, proposing austerity on social spending and tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. Even the tariffs are not as populist as MAGA makes them out to be, as they are a regressive tax on the working and middle class, which Trump wants to replace the progressive income tax with. Trump is exempting Apple and other tech giants from the tariffs on China while allowing small businesses that are dependent upon Chinese goods to go bankrupt. Not to mention that Trump said that we need more immigrants to do the factory jobs. If that is the case, then we get the higher prices of the tariffs but with none of the labor benefits.

However, Trump mirrors the online MAGA Communists in that his rhetoric and agenda is so schizo and incoherent and he often contradicts himself. Drew Pavlou makes the case that Trumpism is a Third World movement because of The MAGA movement’s neo-Maoist personality cult, Trump’s embrace of Juche economics, The MAGA movement’s embrace of a cult of sacrifice and poverty, The MAGA witch doctor/shamanist approach to public health, The MAGA movement’s hatred and resentment towards the West, and The MAGA movement’s embrace of clientelism and patronage networks that look like Russia in the 1990s. Also, MAGA tend to detest intellectuals, egg heads, and experts like Pol Pot did. Trump will flirt with populist proposals like a Sovereign Wealth Fund, like China has, capping credit card interest rates, or raising taxes on the wealthy which he never follows through on. Trump often sounds like a Reagan Republican, but at other times he sounds like a Peronist.

The current MAGA Maoism contradicts the more optimistic neo Reaganite vibe shift that I wrote about right after Trump was inaugurated. Basically, that Trump was going to create so much prosperity that MAGA were the new yuppies and were going to get rich, but also MAGA figures telling young men to stop complaining because things are actually pretty good. This shows how abruptly there can be a shift in vibes. Also, these two ideological narratives can coexist simultaneously within the same movement or be espoused by the same political figure.

It is also remarkable that Trump is saying that he does not care about the stock market, since during his first term, that was his main metric of political success. While unlikely, if Trump manages to turn the economy around, you are going to hear a totally different narrative. For instance, that one day when Trump pivoted on tariffs and stocks surged, there was a change in tune with the same MAGA bros celebrating economic collapse, pivoting back to saying that Trump is going to usher in an economic boom.

MAGA is ironically a top down coalition of both the working class and the oligarchs against the laptop class and bureaucrats, which explains its incoherence. Certainly you get populist rhetoric from MAGA, like the market crash is good because the wealthiest own most of the stocks. While the stock market crash is destroying a lot of the wealth of the top 10%, oligarchs like private equity that back Trump will come in to buy up assets cheaply after the crash.

A lot of populists are rooting for Trump to destroy the economy to rebuild it from scratch. The American economy is fake and built on financialization and consumption, which they hope to replace with a real economy based on production. I predict the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, that is a combination of 1970s stagflation with a financial crisis like 2008. Trump’s economic policies will lead to much worse inequality, and his crashing the economy will cause another leftwing backlash, perhaps worse than the one in 2020. However, cheap consumer goods and access to credit are the few things that are holding together America’s multi ethnic society, so if that is gone, there is going to be a lot of tribal and ethnic tension.

“ However, cheap consumer goods and access to credit are the few things that are holding together America’s multi ethnic society, so if that is gone, there is going to be a lot of tribal and ethnic tension.”
Sounds good to me. But the tension is growing in the government/NGO complex. It’s moving up the food chain. The taxpayer conveyer belt is grinding to a stop, or at least hitting a few cogs in the wheel.
College educated women are now wondering if the race quotas are beginning to collapse what happens when the sex quotas, both formal and informal, go down next? Huh-oh.
There has always been tribal/sexual identity, and always will be. If anything, modern liberalism has ramped it up. Trump - or anyone who believes in the fantasy called human rights - is a liberal and a natural result of the Age of Reason, the Enlightenment. A very mild version of Pol Pot or Mao.
America has the luxury of being self-sufficient in procuring almost any raw resource needed to run a modern industrial economy. The only other place that could claim that is Russia, and potentially Argentina if it invades Chile and Bolivia and appropriates their mining resources.
A functioning industrial economy where all kinds of real mechanical and structural items are made, ranging from as simple as wooden beams to as complex as a car, is needed in case of war, because an ample industrial base can quickly be converted to the mass production of weaponry.
Obviously, damaging the interests of a largely parasitical pseudo-intellectual laptop class while in this process of nursing back to health an inverted-pyramid class society, is and should be the least of concerns.
